Our warehouse is now chock full of fresh Ceylon tea (the flooding receeded in Colombo and we finally took delivery of a long overdue shipment). We're celebrating with a 25% price drop until Sunday 1 August. As our driver said to me while we were there "Is Madam happy now?" Designed and created by Faith Hunter, an 85 year old Northland lady, these stunning tea cosies come in natural and died wool colours featuring nesting chickens with pheasant plumes as tails. Blooming White Tea "Little Princess"
Extraordinary would be a good word to describe this item. Top quality Chinese white tea buds are dried with fresh jasmine flowers. The flowers are removed and replaced with fresh flowers seven times to ensure an even flavouring without any bitterness. The buds are then hand sewn into innocent looking bulbs which bloom on infusion. You can top up with hot water several times, each producing a weaker infusion that still tastes delicious.
